Do you take insurance?
I accept insurance and am in-network with the following plans in these states:
TN, MT, GA, & FL- Optum (Click to see entire Optum Listing), Aetna (Click to see entire Aetna listing) . At this time, I am still Private Pay for residents of SC.
I also accept Private Pay for those of you who would prefer to go that route. Reasons for that choice include:
I won’t be forced to “Label you” with a diagnosis that may end up a permanent part of your health record.
Your records will be protected, which means that no information can be obtained by the insurance company. This can be a concern for folx who don’t want employers, etc finding out about any mental health treatment- which is often an issue for active duty service members, law enforcement, firefighters, or those of you who may have a security clearance for example.

How do we meet for sessions?
Our appointments will be via a HIPAA Secure Telehealth platform through SimplePractice. If you use a desktop or laptop computer, all you’ll have to do is click on the link in the appointment reminder email you receive. If you use your phone, you’ll have to download the Free App “Telehealth by SimplePractice”. Please make sure you do this prior to the appointment so there’s no last-minute difficulty with access.
Initially, you’ll be sent an email link where you’ll take care of some needed paperwork (It’s pretty quick and painless- I promise!). Once you submit those items, you’ll be allowed full access to my client portal where you can see my availability, self-schedule/cancel/reschedule your appointments, and contact me via secure messaging. *If you try to schedule an appointment with less that 24hrs notice, the system will require you to call/text me first.
-
What are your hours?
My hours are Mon-Fri 8AM-11 EST (meaning- the last appointment slot is at 10AM, ending at 11AM), and 2PM-3PM. Clients will have access to my calendar on the client portal to see my availability and to self-schedule their appointments. If there are extenuating circumstances, I have limited flexibility so if that’s something you need let's have that conversation and we can see what some possible options are.

What's the first session like?
Our first session will last about 60 minutes. In the first half, we’ll go over the paperwork you filled out ahead of time and talk a bit about your history—what’s been going on, what you’d like to work on, some background info like family stuff, and anything else that helps me get a better sense of where you're coming from. The second half is a little more relaxed and conversational. It’s a chance for us to get to know each other better and start figuring out some goals before we really dive into the deeper work in future sessions.
-
What's your cancellation policy?
If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours prior to your appointment either by accessing the client portal, or by contacting me via email. If you’re running late or have to cancel last-minute because “Life happens”, I understand- you can text me in those cases and we can reschedule. If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice, or do not show up for your appointment after 10 minutes, you will be billed for the full rate of the session.

"Do you see non-Veterans or First Responders?"
On occasion I’m contacted by someone who asks this question. The short answer is- “Yes, I do”. Even though my focus is the military and first responder population, that doesn’t mean I’m not able to help anyone else. If you’re struggling with something listed on my Specialties page, or if after looking around you think I would be a good fit, then please contact me. If you need help and I can possibly be the one to provide that- I would be happy to!
